About the event
Supporting survivors of sexual trauma is vital work, yet it comes with emotional and professional challenges. Clinicians, first responders, and community partners often witness the profound impact of trauma while navigating the complexities of providing care. This workshop offers a dedicated space to reflect, share, and process the unique experiences of working with survivors—or of carrying one’s own story.
During this one-hour, survivor-led writing workshop, participants will engage in a structured process designed to foster expression and reflection. Facilitators introduce a standardized framework for thinking about how and why we write about sexual trauma, and guide participants through a process that includes modeling, independent writing, sharing, and responding. The workshop components are structured according to a set timeframe, providing participants with clear boundaries for engagement with difficult content, as well as breaks that include grounding exercises and reflection.
This space invites those who support survivors to care for their own…
